Godaheeneti ist eine beliebte mittelkörnige rote Reissorte, die traditionell in Sri Lanka angebaut wird und zum Heeneti-Typ gehört. Die Pflanze erreicht eine maximale Höhe von 160 cm. Diese Ernte kann innerhalb von 3½ Monaten nach der Aussaat geerntet werden. Das Goda-Heeneti-Korn hat eine bräunlich-rote Farbe, seine Deckspelze und Vorspelze sind braun. Der potenzielle Ertrag beträgt etwa 60 bis 65 Scheffel pro Hektar. Traditionell war Goda Heeneti eine beliebte Kulturpflanze, die in großen Höhen angebaut wurde. Derzeit wird es in allen Teilen des Landes angebaut. Traditionell wird angenommen, dass Goda Heeneti dabei hilft, das menschliche Immunsystem zu stärken. Wissenschaftliche Studien haben Hinweise auf medizinische Eigenschaften gefunden, die für die Behandlung von Entzündungen , Diabetes, Krebs , neurologischen Erkrankungen, Cholesterin und oxidativem Stress nützlich sind. Darüber hinaus ist es reich an Proteinen, Vitamin E und natürlich vorkommenden Antioxidantien. Der Verzehr zusammen mit der Kleie ist wichtig, um solch wertvolle ernährungsphysiologische und medizinische Eigenschaften zu erhalten.
