Jahrhundert von den Portugiesen erbaut und später von den Holländern und Briten besetzt. Die öffentliche Bibliothek von Jaffna ist ein Symbol für die Wiederbelebung der Stadt nach dem Krieg. Das Archäologische Museum Jaffna verfügt über niederländische Kanonen und vorkoloniale Artefakte.

Naga Viharaya

Der Geschichte zufolge hatte der srilankische König Devanampiyathissa Sangamiththa Theri und die Gruppe in Dambakola Patuna empfangen, als der Schössling des Sri Maha Bodhi-Baumes 288 v. Chr. von Sangamiththa Theri, der Tochter des indischen Königs Asoka, nach Sri Lanka gebracht wurde in einer Prozession nach Anuradhapura gebracht. Auf dem Weg der Gruppe nach Anuradhapura hatte der „Naga“-Stamm von Jaffna den König gebeten, den Bo-Baum eine Woche lang bei sich zu behalten, damit sie ihm huldigen konnten.

Besuchen Sie das Jaffna-Fort, die Jaffna-Bibliothek, Nallur Kandaswamy Kovil, Sangilian Thooppu und Manthiri Mannai

Genießen Sie eine Bootsfahrt nach Naga Deepa und zum Nainaatheevu Hindu Kovil. Während Ihres Aufenthaltes auf der Insel können Sie die beiden Tempel besichtigen.

Jaffna Fort, the library, Nallur Kandaswamy Kovil and Casuarina Beach.

Naga Viharaya

According to the history, when the sapling of Sri Maha Bodhi tree was brought to Sri Lanka by Sangamiththa Theri, the daughter of King Asoka of India in 288 B.C, the Sri Lankan King Devanampiyathissa had received Sangamiththa Theri and the group at Dambakola Patuna and were taken in procession to Anuradhapura. On the group's way to Anuradhapura, the 'Naga' tribe of Jaffna had requested the King to keep the Bo tree with them for a week for them to pay homage to it.

Visit The Jaffna Fort, Jaffna library, Nallur Kandaswamy kovil., Sangilian Thooppu and Manthiri Mannai

Enjoy a Boat ride to Naga Deepa & the Nainaatheevu Hindu Kovil. During the time in the island, you can visit the two temples.

Next Proceed to Casuarina Beach for a sea bath. Thereafter proceed to visit Elaththusithambaram Kovil.
