Rumasalla-Berg

Rumassala ist ein wunderschöner Berg, der 3 km östlich der Stadt Galle liegt. Südprovinz Sri Lankas, die direkt mit dem Ramayana Yatra Sri Lanka verbunden ist. Laut der Ramayana Trail Tour Sri Lanka soll dieses ungewöhnliche geografische Stück gefallen sein, als Hanuman den Dronagiri auf seinem Rückflug nach Lanka Pura trug, um dort lebensrettende Sanjeevani-Kräuter zu verwenden und Lakhshmana und Rama zu retten, die es brauchten Heilpflanze, die nach schweren Kriegsverletzungen behandelt werden muss. Daher ist Rumassala einer der fünf Sanjivani-Berge in Sri Lanka und ein wichtiger Ausflugsort des Ramayana in Sri Lanka.

Legende

Laut Ramayana, dem berühmten Sanskrit-Epos, konnte Rama zusammen mit seinem jüngeren Bruder und dem Affenhalbgott Hanuman die Spur von Prinz Ramas Gemahlin Sita nach Sri Lanka aufspüren, als sie vom Asura-König Ravana entführt wurde. Der Legende nach wurde Ramas Bruder Lakshmana während des erbitterten Kampfes um die Rettung der Prinzessin schwer verletzt und Hanuman wurde geschickt, um die Heilkräuter zu finden, die er für seine Heilung brauchte. Es heißt, dass der Halbgott in seiner Verwirrung, die richtige Medizin zu finden, ein Stück vom heiligen Berg abbrach. Das Bergfragment brach jedoch in fünf einzelne Teile ab, und es wird angenommen, dass eines davon dort herunterfiel, wo sich heute der Rumasalla-Berg befindet. Während er den Hügel trug, wird angenommen, dass einige Teile des Hügels an fünf Stellen herunterfielen Sri Lanka, nämlich Rumassala in Galle, Dolu Kanda in Hiripitiya, Ritigala an der Straße Habarana Anuradhapura, Thalladi in Mannar und Kachchativu im Norden.

Derzeit ist der majestätische Berg ein Beweis dafür, dass einige der faszinierenden Vorfälle, die im Epos erwähnt werden, tatsächlich stattgefunden haben könnten. Obwohl Reisende über seltsame Fälle berichten, die sich im Berg verirrt haben, ist Rumasalla auch ein Paradies für Kräuter , wo Forscher fast 150 Arten einzigartiger Kräuter gefunden haben, die seltsamerweise nicht aus dem Berg wachsen

  • Pidurutalagala or Mount Pedro in English, is an ultra prominent peak, and the tallest mountain in Sri Lanka, at 2,524 m (8,281 ft). Mount Pedro is located close to the city of Nuwara Eliya, and is easily visible from most areas of the Central Province. It is situated North-North-East from the town of Nuwara Eliya.

Lipton’s Seat is so named because the famed Scottish baron and tea planter Sir Thomas Lipton used it as the seat to survey his empire in a time long gone but not forgotten.

  • Don’t defiance the beautiful tourism site in Sri Lanka, Little Adams Peak whether considering the word ‘Little’, it is named after the sacred Adams Peak (Sri Pada –where the foot print of Lord Buddha is preserved) regarding the similarity between the two mountains.

  • Ritigala can be reached from the turn-off from Habarana-Anuradhapura Road at a distance of 12 km from Habarana. Another 5 km along a graveled yet motorable road leads to the foot of the mountain.

  • Ethagala (the Elephant Rock) is one of seven rocks that overlook the town of Kurunegala, in Sri Lanka. The rock face reaches 316 metres (1,037 ft) over the town and in its shape resembles a crouching elephant, which explains the rock’s name.
