Waterfalls
Having the highest waterfall density in the world with a recorded 382 waterfalls spread throughout the country, Sri Lanka is the place to be to see all kinds of waterfalls.Fed by two half-yearly monsoons, rivers rush down the rocky precipices and form spectacular waterfalls. Only some of these picturesque waterfalls can be viewed with ease as the others are located inside thick forests and around tea plantations.

Dieser Wasserfall mit dem Namen „Devon Falls“ hat durch seine Formation in drei aufeinanderfolgenden Kaskaden ein besonderes Aussehen und ergießt sich in das darunter liegende Tal, nicht weit entfernt von seinem Bruder, dem „St. Clairs“. An der gegenüberliegenden Hauptstraße befindet sich ein modernes Teezentrum, das dank dieses „Schleiers (Braut) des Vale (dh des Tals)“ seinen Sitz hat. Wenn man von Colombo , der Hauptstadt, über Avissawella fährt, erhascht man plötzlich diesen überirdischen Anblick, der bald durch die Pracht des „St. Clairs“.
