Mercedes „E“-Klasse
Die Mercedes-Benz E-Klasse ist eine Reihe von Oberklassewagen des deutschen Automobilherstellers Mercedes-Benz in verschiedenen Motor- und Karosseriekonfigurationen. Die seit 1953 produzierte E-Klasse gehört zur Mittelklasse der Mercedes-Modellpalette und wird seit fünf Generationen weltweit vermarktet.
Vor 1993 war das E in der Mercedes-Benz-Nomenklatur ein Suffix nach der Modellnummer eines Fahrzeugs, das für Einspritzmotor (deutsch für Kraftstoffeinspritzmotor) stand. Es tauchte erstmals in den frühen 1960er Jahren auf, als dieses Merkmal in der Produktlinie des Herstellers weit verbreitet eingesetzt wurde, und zwar nicht nur in den Luxus- und Sportmodellen der Oberklasse. Mit der Einführung des überarbeiteten W124 im Jahr 1993 war die Kraftstoffeinspritzung in Mercedes-Motoren allgegenwärtig, und das E wurde als Präfix übernommen (d. h. E 220) und die Modellreihe wurde offiziell als E-Klasse (oder E-Klasse) bezeichnet. . Alle Generationen der E-Klasse waren entweder mit Hinterradantrieb oder mit dem Allradantrieb 4Matic von Mercedes ausgestattet.
